What's the difference?

When you are going to choose a file to download, what is the difference between:
-Garmin POI GPX (or CSV)
-Garmin POI (Custom POI with extended info)-options
-Garmin GPX (proximity alert, phone dial, etc.)-options
(found here: http://www.gps-data-team.com/gps-poi.php )

I assume the first choice has nothing except the coordinates of the POI?

In the 2nd choice, I don't know what the options mean. Also, what does extended info mean?

In the third choice, it sounds like you can d/l the GPX file with alert distance of your choosing. So does this choice provide the alert distance of your choosing along with extended info... whatever that is?

What's the difference

speedlever,
I suggest you download 1 of each type
-Garmin POI GPX (or CSV)
-Garmin POI (Custom POI with extended info)-options
-Garmin GPX (proximity alert, phone dial, etc.)-options
and experiment to see which one suits your unit best.
Some have the .BMP and .MP3 files embedded. Some you have to download these seperate.

Cheers

embedded MP3?

Thanks ron. It would be good to know which files have embedded mp3 files. My 1690 is mp3 impaired and can only do WAV files.

Embedded mp3

None have embedded mp3 or wav files, they need to be downloaded separately, at least that's what i have found to date.
Cheers,
:)
