| Posted by ranatrinder Over the speed tone This may have been posted in another forum, though does anyone know if you can get a tone from the unit ( Garmin 1490T) when you go over the speed. This would be handy driving in the city. I would apprectiate any replies. |
| Posted by ross.bowden3 Over Speed Tone Hi, Not aware of any Garmin unit that provides this facility. Of course it will notify you if you are going over speed in a zone where a camera is, for example, but this is written into the software. Cheers. |
| Posted by pablo_gsxr750 Over the speed tone Hi there - I contacted Garmin about this issue a few months ago but, their email reply stated that although they appreciated my feedback none of their GPS systems provided an audible tone/beep etc when going over speed despite the speed indicator turning RED!!!! However, they also said that in future this facility may be included in new models???? Sorry - This doesn't help us but, like you I would love a tone/beep for an over speed similar to the camera warnings. I've also tried to setup my own POI with speed limit warnings but, the GPS can't handle it and all hell lets loose with tone/beep and bongs going off all the time. Cheers P :) |
