Posted by stefan.h Exporting stored favorites from Nuvi 765 My 1 month old 765 is a lemon and needs to go back to Garmin to be replaced. I have over 100 favorites stored and would hate to have to save them all over. Can I copy them out to my computer and restore them to the new one when I get it? If so which files do I need to take? Thanks |

Posted by roadrider01 Exporting stored favorites from Nuvi 765 Yes you can download them to your computer using the free Garmin Road Trip software from Garmin. When your unit is connected to your computer, click on the receive icon at eh top and it will copy all your saved POI's to the computer. When you get your new unit, you can hook it up the same way and click on the send icon and it will load your saved POI's to you new unit. |

stefan, connect the gps to computer, then you can see it in the main directory as another drive. Just copy and download everything in that drive (mine shows as Garmin nuvi) OR, just copy the files that you want to keep from the garmin. |

Posted by LMOF Helping Just connect the GPS to the computer by USB/mini USB like it was already told, and backup the POI by just copying the "FOLDER" to your harddrive or wherever you want. Than later if you want to use that POI in another GPS, I think that they are compatible, so just copy the files from the "folder" to the memory of that respective GPS. Easy and clear I think, steps just like one portable hard drive. Best Regards. |
