Reinstalling City Navigator Files

Hi.
I have a Garmin Nuvi 660, and I want to delete all the files and reinstall only the basic maps. I also have one(1) Update CD for the country I am using which is 'City Navigator - Australia'. Do I have to install the original cd for Australia or just use the "UPDATE" version? Any ideas. Any tricks I should be careful of in del, eteing all my files. I have made a back up on a SD card of the total Garmin Directory files.

You can just use the UPDATE version over the existing City Navigator. Keep in mind if you create a new maps you would have to register them.
I would suggest backup your unit files on your computer rather then CD card. If something goes bad you can quickly re-copy staff back. You do not have to delete all data, since the only update you got is for Australia maps (Latest version as of now is 2011)

Klenop3,
If you delete Mapsource from your computer, you will have to re install the original version then do the updates to Mapsource after that.

If you hook your Nuvi to a computer via USB port, it will be recognised and open as a data drive. In Windows explorer ( or Mac equivilant) you can see all there files in the Nuvi. As suggested elsewhere, first make a complete copy of the Nuvi contents, just in case of problems later. Then you can delete files such as MP3, JPG, Audible, etc, directly. Use the update for the map.
