Windows 7 and Vista USB problem on a TomTom XL330s

Has anyone else has troble with with very slow USB transfer rates with Visa and Windows 7. In the previous two cases the computers were 64 bit and my TomTom was a XL330s. Later I tried using my friends computer which is an older 32 bit Windows XP model and it worked fine. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this problem and if they found a solution.

This problem cost me a lot of time and with slow and aborted downloads from here yesterday.

Slow Usb with windows 7

Try Updating your chipset drivers.
Check your Bios Settings. Pending on your MoBo, AUTO works most of the time.

Being 64 bit should not make a difference. I am a bit confused because you talk about slow USB transfers and then go on to talk about slow/interrupted downloads from this site... it sounded like you were trying to indicate the two problems were linked somehow?

Anyway... the only other thing that has not been questioned is whether your USB ports are USB 1 on your machine and USB 2 (faster) on your friend's? Unlikely I suppose, because you must have quite an up-to-date PC to run a 64 bit operating system.
