HTC Touch 2: No satelites

My HTC Touch 2 sometimes has a problem locating satelites especially on the weekends . I have GPS quick fix enabled and the latest downloaded from Tom Tom still I have no satelites.
I have soft reset
I occasionally it gets satelites 2,000 ks away in the back of nowhere with no roads and attempts to drive me home and I have to leave it connected over night to get back to home
Anyone else have this problem
:(

Did you try to update your software?

Maybe it is the solution.

No sattelite

Firstly, make sure that you have selected the option to show your vehicle on a road and not at a GPS location as this is sometimes off by a couple metres. Secondly. get outside into the open air away from buildings and structures. Turn your phone face down while it searches for the satellites and keep your hand out of the way. i.e hold it at the bottom. once you have found the satellites, you shouldn't have a problem.

Re: HTC Touch 2: No satelites

Are you using GPS offline (i.e. no data)? if so it could take a while to find a satellite because I believe it is trying to locate you from the last known position (position you were at last time you used the GPS) and cell towers, at least that's the case in my Nokia.

Possibly solution

I had the same problem with an old HTD Pro (1, not 2), though the HD2 is much better. In any case, there are third party apps you can download, Total Commander is the one I think.

Basically it allows you to change your registry and there are some tweaks which help GPS signal strength and such. I'm not sure if we're allowed to post links, so I won't do that here, but it did help me.

Let me know how you go.
