Posted by steven.chaffer3 MP3 alert files dont work on 1390t After a whole lot of mucking about and trawling through all the posts on the forum I almost gave up on getting spoken alerts to work on my 1390t. None of the posts that I could find mentioned the fact that mp3 files wont play as alerts on the 1390t. Lots of advice to check file names are the same etc etc but that was not the problem. On the 1390t, the audio alert files have to be *.wav files. I have now uploaded *.gpx, *.wav and *.bmp files using POILoader and SOX and it works fine. You have to have SOX in the POILoader.exe directory for it to work its magic and allow the 1390t to handle the original wav files. Hurray. No more of Garmin's "faster your seat belts" chimes for me... |

Posted by Optimize MP3 not supported in some of the latest models Garmin 13xx and 14xx series does not support mp3, audiobooks ectc. IMHO, the more expensive 1390t and 1490t are downgrades compared to 765t. |

Another suggestion, why not download the .WAV files and not take a chance of stuffing up the conversions ? |

Posted by william.beck mp3 and wav files Have a look at forum http://www.gps-data-team.com/pda-gps-navigation/viewtopic.php?t=3250&start=15 It appears you may need to use wav files and your poi loader will need sox.exe sitting in the loaders directory I found with the 1490 |

Posted by hatchm Wav or Mp3 files? WAV files definitely work with the 3790T even though my 760 only works with MP3. |
