POILoader & POI files

I installed the POILoader and downloaded some POI files. I successfully installed Accident Black Spots and Red Light Cameras on my Nuvi 260.

However, I have now downloaded several more "Safety" POIs and put them under the folder structure c:\garmin\poi\[sub folder name] and none of them appear on my Nuvi 260 under Extras - Custom POIs, only the two original files.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help.

Where are the original files ?

Are the original POI in the same directory as the new POI files. I made the mistake of storing my POI files in separate directories and running the POI loader several times against each directory. Problem is the loader appears to replace the POI on the device so I would only have the last directory processed on the device. So much for having an organised POI directory structure.

POI Updating

I have found you need all the directories in order on my pc. When you load them you need to load them ALL again. Don't think that because you have loaded them once they will stay. Everytime you update DO ALL FILES AND DIRECTORIES. Works for me.

POILOADER & POI FILES

Have found the easiest way is to put all of the poi files in the one folder on the computer and use the poi loader to load to the unit, and i reload all of the files when any new ones are downloaded to the computer.

The POIs from the GPS data team site go to my download file in documents. That's where I check them out. If they only show 0 bytes or 6 bytes etc. they don't work.
Then I move the good ones to the folder I actually use to load them to my 2720.
The poi loader loads the poi's to the garmin. In doing so, it clears the original poi's. So, you must have all the ones you want on your unit each time you update your poi's. I haven't been able to jsut add one. You end up with only the most recent ONE. The rest are gone.
