Tom Tom XL IQ Routes - Takes ages to find satellites

I bought this TomTom XL IQ Routes several months ago. I am thinking of taking it back, as it takes ages to find the GPS signal. It is not getting any better and I am finding it very frustrating. It can take up to 5 - 10 mins to find a signal. I don't see why I should have to wait this long!! I did not have this problem with my old Tom Tom One.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Return it.

Well the unit should be within warranty, so take it back and even demonstrate it; then ask for a similar unit to be taken off the shelf and demonstrated.

I've found that if you ask them to demonstrate an off the shelf item next to yours they cannot deny there is an issue.

Bad satellite conection

Hi,

Have the same issue with my 'old' One XL (bought 2008 when phased out). Without quick fix the unit takes forever to find the satellites. Had a newer unit from a mate from work (bought after 2008) and it behaved the same.

Regards
Rolf

TT inside sheltered carparks

I noticed this problem (not as extremely as you describe) when I drive my car into a sheltered car park with TomTom on, or start up TomTom when still inside the sheltered car park. TT seems to try and track GPS and move beyond visible satelites in a search of useful GPS info.
