Posted by mwalker87015 Garmin's Maximum Sizes for SD and MicroSD Expansion Car There was some debate regarding the maximum storage capacity for the SD and MicroSD expansion cards. If you have a nuvi or zumo series, you may use up to a 16GB disk. The StreetPilot series have a maximum capacity of 2GB . |
Posted by senecal.andre MIcroSD and SDHC There are 2 types of MicroSD cards :
MicroSD HC (High Capacity) : from 4G up to 16G A MicroSD HC device can use both types. A MicroSD device in not compatible with the MicroSD HC format Read your unit's documentation. If it calls for MicroSD don't go for MicroSD HC. |
Posted by Red SD cards top out at 2GB An SD-HD card can be larger, but the old "SD" card spec stops at 2GB. If your gizmo says "SD cards" that means 2GB maximum unless you luck out. If the gizmo says "SD-HD" then you should be OK for the larger capacity cards. |

Posted by Chiaroscurist Using a 32 gb Class 10 card in Zumo 660... I am using a Sandisk 16gb Class 4 card... Seems to be just fine since I have almost completely loaded it with music and have used it 4 years now... I am hoping to put in a 32 gb Class 10 card and try it because it will be faster. I truly like the variety of tunes on a long road trip... Has anyone tried a 32 gb card in their Zumo 660 ? |
Posted by bradfordew 32 gb hd card for zuma 660 Just tried installing a 32 gb HD card in my Zuma 660, loaded it with 20 gb music mp3's and it took forever to find a song and would not even play it. Put back in my 16 gb hd card with 15 gb music , now works great |
Posted by johnjpj Garmin Nuvo 660 As long as the automotive device has the latest version of software, the device can use the maximum card size. |
