Posted by ozolins Nuvi 660 Just wanted to start a forum on this new unit. I bought one last week and was very dissapointed when the maps wiped themselves clean from the internal HD. Garmin replaced the unit and now all is fine. Best GPS unit I have used. Just hope the maps stay put and don't force me into using the melways again. Simon |

Posted by Guest I have a Nuvi 660 and have swapped it 3 times!!! Every time that I use web updater to update the firmware, all the maps get deleted. This is an awesome unit and does exactly what I want. Any ideas on how to update without losing everything? |

Posted by Guest Updating without webupdater Just forget webupdater, and download the firmware manually from http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=1921 After updating the firmware, you can use webupdater to find other updates, such as voices, vehicles, or GPS software. |

Posted by ottawadude 2gb Card for my GPS I use a 2gb card with music.. I have taken it out and added more songs to the card successfully once, however when taking the card out and adding more soongs It hasnt worked since, How can I get it to find the Mp3 files..and add them, also does the file install itself in the library because i can take the GB card out and the music is still there... |

Posted by teddeebare Bigger card than 2GB I have been using a 4GB card since brand new, which is a couple of years ago now. Always kept the unit up to date with firmware updates. The issues with bluetooth occur with me also, but it is dependent on the phone. If I use my iPhone, no problem. If I use my Nokia, it drops out and comes back over and over again. As for your problem ottawadude, I have never had that problem. Have added music over and over and never had an issue. Are you using the card external when you add or leaving the card plugged into the unit? |
