| Posted by bobjokat Help please with POIs to my Tom Tom One XL Please can anyone help me. I am in the UK trying to download Shopping POIs to my Tom Tom One XL. eg Asda. I click on POI bmp and download - All I get is an Asda Icon. I then click on POI v2 and tell it to save the file, which it seems to do. I then try to open the file and get "Adobe Reader could not open Asda-UK-Eng ov2 because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and was not correctly decoded). If I click on OK I get a screen which says Beyond Adobe Reader and tries to take me further into Adobe to download Adobe 9. I have never had a problem with Adobe before - it opens everything I ask it to do. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, please. I am pulling my hair out with this and don't want any more bald patches. Thankyou. :? |
| Posted by lalirra3 Help please with POIs to my Tom Tom One XL Adobe will not open an OV2 file. You need to copy the bmp file (which is the little picture of the Asda icon ie a bitmap) as well as the OV2 file to your Tomtom. The OV2 file specifies the locations of the POIs to the One XL. You just connect the unit to computer using USB cable and open up the drive in internet explorer (Start/Computer/and you will see the drive). You can drag and drop to POI file on the Tomtom root drive. I would advise to use Tomtom Home to backup device before you start. |
