Bluetooth Menu Question For One XL

What Benefits do Bluetooth have regarding my TomTom One XL?

I know it is not entirely Bluetooth Capable, but has some uses regararding Bluetooth.

What can I do to my One XL with regards to Bluetooth.

I need the 411 on this subject.

As a member mentioned in another thread:

There is no bluetooth capability on ONE and XL models.
You have to have the more expensive 730 or 930 models for bluetooth or FM transmitters.

I realize this to be the case, then why do One XL owners have that option in the menu?

Cheers,

RE: Bluetooth Question For One XL

To be honest I didn't realise the XL had Bluetooth option in menu. If it does though it is more than likely for the TT Live services.

The TomTom One XL does not have Bluetooth.

I guess that TomTom produces one version of the software to cover many models, some of which have Bluetooth and Traffic built in so those with lesser capabilities end up with menu entries that are not applicable.

TomTom menus can be modified.

Bluetooth Menu Question For One XL

I have a 730 and also a one XL. The XL does not have Bluetooth capability but lists the option because its runs the same software as models that do. The main use of bluetooth is to connect to a bluetooth enabled mobile phone so that you can make phone calls and answer calls through the GPS unit handsfree. Much safer. The GPS unit with bluetooth has an inbuilt microphone and speakers or you can connect to the cars FM radio to provide a very neat phone solution. The 730 does this extremely well and was well worth the extra $.
