Posted by marinerguy_99 Where Do I Begin? Hi. I have a TomTom OneXL-S and would like to start the uploading process of POI's to the unit. I have tried to initially download the files, yet the GPS unit doesn't seem to want to 'take' the information. Contrary to what a member has informed new users, I have opened TomTom Home as a medium by which to connect. I didn't know of any other way. I've not found the file on the hard drive of maps either. I'm a bit computer illiterate in this task and would need step-by-step instructions. I have been able to download using Home, voices and such. The POI's are what I am interested in.. Thanks, Marinerguy |

Posted by marinerguy_99 Thanks I'll click on the Icon on My Computer with the unit plugged in using a USB. I don't recall seeing a Map Folder, but I'll look again. Thanks for your help. |
Posted by chris1 Try a different usb port Try plugging into a different USB port, check MyComputer and you should see a disc drive letter for your tom tom. |
Posted by mandrake02000 Try another usb cable Or maybe is the usb cable, I had that problem, have you tried other one? |
Posted by marinerguy_99 I got it! I believe I got it. Not too bad once the transfer of files were complete. I did find that there were duplicate files like ie. (redlight cameras (2)). So I stuck to only BMP/OV2 Files, for instance. (or OGG where applicable) What a great website! Oh, I also was able to download voices. |
