| Posted by roadrash Warnings help I have just replaced my aging Totom with a new Nuvi 6100 but need some help. Its important to me to get good audio alerts of such things as speed cameras and other POI's as I ride a motorcycle and put the GPS unit in my jacket pocket and so cannot see anything but have speakers in the helmet so i can hear audiable directions & warnings. I have just tested the nuvi 610 in a car & noticed that my it shows a speed camera on its display as I'm approaching it but its gives no advance audible warning of it. When my old TomTom approaches a speed camera it will sound off a siren then shout something like "Warning Gatso ahead 250 yards speed limit 30mph". Can I get the Garmin Nuvvi 610 to do this? |
| Posted by corsaleb try this... You need to put a recorded mp3 or find a warning mp3 file, then place it in the same directory as the speed camera (gpx or cvs file) - also name it the same as the gpx or csv file..with an mp3 extention. Then use POI loader to reload onto the device. |
