| Posted by WJgrandy Nuvi 205w Can't get POI to work Hi, They have installed a new traffic camera down the road from where I work that is going to be a problem for me. I have been trying to get my Garmin Nuvi 205w to alert me when I am nearing the location but the model I have does not have that option standard, or I cant figure out how to use it. I have the coordinates for the location and have been looking for a POI that I can upload to my gps to use. What would be ideal, would be if there was a poi template that I could plug in the coordinates and that would be it. Is there such a thing? Nothing fancy, simply an alert when I am approaching the area. I have tried myself several times and it does nothing when I approach the camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks I have tried to create a poi folder on my Garmin to transfer them to using the poi loader from garmin but still nothing. |
| Posted by rongoodwin Nuvi 205w Can't get POI to work WJgrandy If you have a camera poi file that works, (any common POI format), you can open it with POI Editor and add your own local coordinates for the location following the same format of the existing ones. Then reinstall it. Good Luck. |
| Posted by Andrew-GDT Add new POI It's even faster if you go to the list of all POI locations, find your file and simply press the "Add your location" button. Find your location on the map and press the "Submit" button. You can add new location, reload and reinstall the file in 30 seconds. |
