Free updates on any gps

Do any of the automobile GPS's come with free updates? I have a Garmin NUVI 200 which forgot a major bridge over a bay after a year. You can be on the bridge and it tells you to make a u turn and drive 30 miles around:shock: . I hate to pay a high price to get the maps updated. I am going to purchase one for a gift and did not know if any brand was better or cheaper with map updates.

Thank you for your help and advice.

Free updates on any gps

Coming up to xmas I have noticed that some of the Navman gps's have a 3yr free map updates plus live traffic which isnt a bad deal considering the prices of updates for some gps's that might be worth looking at :)

free updates

Navman is currently offering free map updates for 2010, 2011, and 2012. The free updates are available only if you purchase a new navman GPS device from a participating store, and register online for your free map updates.

I have the new 55T, for which I have done a small reveiw for people on here: http://www.gps-data-team.com/pda-gps-navigation/viewtopic.php?t=3158#9440

Free Updates for 2 years on Garmin Nuvi 1690 !!!

I just got this unit for $329, but they've raised the price back to $378.

2 years is basically for life, because by this point, Google freebie GPS programs with free traffic will be putting the squeeze on TomTom and Garmin.

Well you can get a Nokia smartphone, All the one's with gps chips (which is most of them) have voice navigation with street names and free map updates. Also, you can download the maps for almost anywhere around the world, doesn't matter where you are from.

I know smartphones means data plans, but see if they offer any Nokia smartphones without a data plan (for examples, i got my free Nokia E71 with only cheap voice plan on a contract and could have gone E72 for $100). I'm really happy with the phone and now I don't have to carry a GPS around with me!
