Posted by ptolich Trouble with satellites I have nuvi260 and lately have been having trouble finding satellites. My firmware is up to date and I have a clear run to the sky. Eventually after travelling a few kilometres , I get connected. is this a common problem , I'm finding it annoying. |
Posted by johmazz2006 Trouble with satellites Not a normal problem, how long does it take to find satellites from boot up ? |
Posted by ddolbel gps satelite problem I too had a similar problem and it turned out to be the antenna, I had to take it to the garmin service centre and they replaced the antenna. It was all covered by warranty. I suggest you get it checked. |

Posted by guenterherfurth Trouble with satellites You need to be stationary until all satellites are found, then you can proceed to drive to your destination. If you are travelling it takes so much longer to log onto all the satellites. I have found out the hard way. guenter |
Posted by cakesy cloud This problem can also be caused by clouds or smog. Whenever it is cloudy, it always seems to take longer to get a fix on the satellite. It shouldn't, I know, since the signal should go through clouds. This is what I have found. |
Posted by johnwanless1 Re trouble with Satellites Hi yes I had same problem with Nuvi 310. When it stops try using external antenna. You can use a bread tie as a temporary one and if it starts working it proves antenna is faulty. I sent mine back to Garmin who replaced the antenna unit. |
