What files must be copied to another disk in order to backup all personalized files in case of repair?

Thanx

Copy everything

Personally, I would copy everything under the /garmin folder just in case.

I have done that for all my GPSes including handhelds. It saves me having to re-install all my maps as well. However, if Garmin gives you a new GPS, you will still need to reinstall the maps with new unlock codes.

backup

To copy/backup GPS:
Plug unit into your computer and log the drive that now shows up on your computer.
Copy everything in that directory to wherever you wish to backup/copy to ON ANOTHER drive. Can be beneficial to keep an extra copy on a USB drive as well.

backing up

When you attach the USB cable to your GPS your computer should see it as another drive when you go to "My Computer".

To play it safe you could copy all of the contents from the GPS to your backup media.

Thanks. I was wondering if I needed to back it up. Looks easy to do...
