| Posted by gconstant3 Extended delays loading maps on 770 Anyone experience delays, like 5 minutes to load the maps on their nuvi? Been using mine daily traveling and find that on many occasions after stopping and turning it off, turning it back on again can take an extremely long time and sits on loading maps. |

| Posted by life.by delay It really depends on circumstance, if I turn on unit in basement (underground parking) or my garage, it will take while to login the map. So, I always drive out to open space then turn on my unit. It quite helpful. |

| Posted by clubbyr8 Delay What version firmware are you on? Is it the latest? If not, upgrade to the latest firmware version and see if it makes a difference. |

Delay may be caused by time spent trying to locate satellites when under cover. I know that the maps seem to load first but maybe the satellite search starts at the same time and uses a fair bit of the processor time. |

| Posted by clubbyr8 Delay I used to have a similar problem, sometimes the maps would never load, the screen would sit on "loading maps". This seemed more prevalent after I connected the nuvi to my PC. I then reloaded the firmware and the problem would fix itself for a while. Under the latest firmware I haven't had an issue and the maps load in about 15 secs (from turn on). The level of battery charge wasn't a factor for me as it's allows fully charged or connected to external power. |

| Posted by scottamitchell Map loading How many maps are installed on your device - I find my unit takes longer to load when I have multiple maps installed on the SD card. Do you mean it takes a long time on the loading screen or is it a problem once the device is booted? |
