Newbie Question about duplicating POIs accidently

Well I just got my new Nuvi 265wt and starting downloading POI's from the site after supporting the site. I should have read first but didn't. I downloaded *.csv, *.gpx, *.bmp and *.mp3. Well...then I launched the poiloader and it duplicated the poi's. I put them on a sd card on my garmin...then when I unplugged the garmin it said, found new POI's on the SD card, do you want to install them...I said yes. Now I have duplicated installed...when I scroll through the list. Like I searched for red lights in Baytown...I have two. One basic version and one with more info. I figure I could start all over but how do I do that. Even though it is on my SD card I am CERTAIN it is also meshed with my poi on the garmin. I have a fresh download from garmin's site of maps...should I start there and re-upload those files (do they upload new POI's too?) then on my computer I can erase the duplicates and then load them via the uploader again...do I say "yes to install them when the garmin asks?" I appreciate any help. Jason

saving poi's

Move one of the files from your download directory and then load just one again. When you do reload of POI's if you only have the one poi file it will override your current one and you should only have the one. If you rename your poi file in your gps you can load multiple poi files and then update the one you want without over riding or effecting your other poi files. The GPS will read multiple poi files anad display all in your special poi files screen.

Duplicate POI files

Thats easy to fix. Plug in your Garmin to the computer. Goto My computer > Garmin file > POI file and delete one of the poi files.

I thought that too, until I deleted the wrong POI Folder and lost some of my fixed cameras.
If your going to connect the GPS to the computer, creat a folder named "Spare POIs" on your desk top and place them in there just incase you delete the wrong ones, you have them to re-install.
Just a thought...
