Posted by eric.terry Google Maps Question Is it possible to create a route in Google Maps to get the driving directions and then load this to your Garmin? I have a Nuvi 250W. |

You can use Google Earth and Google Maps to create your own POI file with POI Manager for Garmin. Save POI file to your Garmin and use it to navigate to any saved point. |

Posted by elikandme Re: Re Google maps question Looks like Google stuffed this thing up. I contacted Garmin and that's what they say. They have/had an agreement with Google to provide this type of service but it doesn't work any more. If you select a single point on the map it still works and you can send it to Garmin, Garmin direct upload, Navigon, Nokia, Navman, TomTom, etc. Look for the navigation bar above the map: Street view, Save to GPS, Print map... Use a [Save to GPS] option to select your GPS brand... |

Posted by steven333 Google Earth / Mapsource I have done this using Garmin Mapsource which can display Google earth maps and then uploaded to the device. You need a legal copy of mapsource though. |

Posted by BikePilot Can't get it to work This option would be really useful to me, but I seem to only have an e-mail option. No drop down list or anything like that. Any ideas? I installed the Garmin communicator and the test page says its working properly. |
