| Posted by Chakalaka Nuvi 200 Does not warn me I downloaded custom POI's and it shows when i go to the folder, and how far it is exactly, I can even select it as an waypoint and it will take me there. But it does not warn me when i pass them ex. the road safety. It there a setting I must change? |
| Posted by tthomas1213 Nuvi 200 Does not warn me Yes, I believe you need to go in to setting and turn alerts on for the custom POI that you downloaded. You may also need to check the poi you downloaded that it support alerts |
| Posted by robbinskuma poi Chakalaka, when you load via POILoader if you let it load automatically, it may not set alerts to the files. It should but it may not. Select manual on the upload method and for each POI file you load you can select the "trigger distance" or speed (if you are exceeding the speed setting, the alert sounds. If you are under the speed that is set, you will get no alert. My guess if you let POILoader load in auto mode, the road safety alert was set to a speed higher than which you approached the road safety POI and rightfully so , the alert should not go off. Try loading POIs again and do it in manual mode. You can set distance to trigger POI alert OR speed-to-exceed to hear alert. On the speed setting I'm not sure what distance range is default. Ex. over 55mph when you get within 1320ft of speed camera the alert sounds. I think 1320 is default since some of my files have the same distance alert already...based off file name practice. J |
