| Posted by bsbsj2 Garmin Map Downloads Having just purchased a Garmin Nuvi 660 for my son at Christmas, I have had a frustrating time getting the updated maps (Australian 2009). I have been attempting to download the file 269MB for the last three days only to find that it crashes after about 69MB. The adverage download speed has been 1.96KB/Sec :x . Is there anything that I am doing wrong or can I obtain a disk from Garmin to install the update. Any advise would be appriciated |
| Posted by david.sole maps Do they download through your browser like a normal file, or through a special garmin program ? If its through your browser, you can try a download manager such as GetRight , which will let you resume if the download halts, rather than starting again. |
| Posted by glo8al Recommend a download manager. A download manager is the way to go, PC as above or your using a Mac try Speed Download. |
| Posted by steve.weatherill Try this one I use download accelerator plus. I downloaded maps to my Nuvi 760 with it and that is a 300mb + file! |
| Posted by 21sept03 Downloading maps I have a Garmin Nuvi310 and I can download updates alright but they wont transfer to my unit. I get a message that says maps cannot be updated. |
