Posted by timothy.daly GPS Stolen Hi everybody. I just wanted to post a warning to people out there about the "Go Home" feature on most GPS units. My GPS was stolen a few weeks ago along with my house keys. Even though I had enabled the Garmin Lock I still was wary that someone would crack it so I have changed the locks on my apartment. Now that I have replaced the unit instead of putting my address in as "Home" I have put a nearby landmark. That's just something to think about when you're setting up your unit. Cheers. |

Posted by ja97 GPS Stolen Man, that's a bummer. I hear more and more people are being burglarized because of the way the economy. Good idea about the home information. |

Posted by Staceyftwo Need Help removing from window I cannot remove the GPS holder fom the window of a car I just purchased. Does anyone have any suggestions? The only part on the window is a flat round disc, she said the device was a garmin. I am worried that someone will think I have one and break a window to look for it,and I don't .... Any suggestions would be appreciated! |
Posted by jason.learmonth Loss of GPS A very important point about recording a home address in the GPS unit. I'd never thought of that. And I mean a home address can be recorded or left somewhere in the history rather than bleeding obvious in favourites or "home". I'll make a change to mine & check it isn't listed. |
