| Posted by mwhipps Warning for POI I have a Garmin Nuvi GPS and have uploaded redlight camers sites etc. How do I get the Garmin to warn when I approach one of the red lights? |

Many POI files for Garmin have the matching audio alert files. - Create a folder with the same name (e.g. USA Speed Traps, USA_Red_Light_Cameras, Wal-Mart or MyCustomPOIs ) You need to place the Garmin data file, the icon file and the MP3 file in the same folder. So if your Custom POI file is in a folders named "Wal-mart", then put all custom files in that folder. Garmin POI Loader will load all them together and you will have custom alerts for any POI file. I have Garmin Nuvi 750. It works well. Some old Garmin models do not have an MP3 player, so the MP3 alert sounds will not work with that units (e.g. Garmin c340). |
