Hi All,
I just joined this forum. It looks like a great resource! When I downloaded and installed the Garmin POI's for red lights, and selected New York in the filter, did I only get NY and now need to add each State I plan to travel to? Or, did I get all States?

Dan

When I update NY it seems to update the entire state Rolling Eyes I know this becuase I travel to Albany, Kingston, Rockland/Orange/Putnam counties, in addtion to NYC (all 5 boroughs) and my GPS-Data-Team Garmin has kept me ticket free Very Happy Be sure to keep your device updated

Post WAV file downloads

After some difficulty navigating the site I finally managed to download the POIs for school zones and the associated BMP file.

Later I downloaded a WAV voice alert however ended up with one covering"speed camera ahead" rather than the one appropriate for school zones.

Did this occur because I had the wrong category page open at the time or is there some other process I need to take?

I have a Garmin 1450T and am learning.

Cheers

Each category of warning POIs has its own WAV file that identifies the type of warning and you will find the WAV file in the same place from where you downloaded the POI file.

You only need to download the WAV file once for any one category, e.g. School Zones, but you will need to copy it for each school zone file you download and rename it the same as the school zone file (but keep the .WAV extension).

Thus if you download NSW and QLD school zones separately, you only need to download the WAV file from one of them and make a copy for the other state. Thus you will need a School_Zone_QLD.WAV to go with your School_Zone_QLD.CSV and a School_Zone_NSW.WAV to go with your School_Zone_NSW.CSV. School_Zone_QLD.WAV is a copy of School_Zone_QLD.WAV with the file name changed.

The same goes for camera and red light POIs. Just download one camera WAV file and one Red Light WAV file and copy for each POI in that category.

Cheers,
Hugh

I have both Have both Nuvi 3760 & 2350.
I was not sure at first what files to be downloaded and transfer with the Garman POI Loader, so I played with every combination of files and found what works best for my Nuvi 3760 and my wife's 2350 is to just transfer the Garmin POI GPX file (the third one down) and set the Express mode to "Normal" and the alert distance to 1000 feet. Once when I was using the shorter alert distance, I found myself shooting a yellow light before I got the warning that I was in a "Camera zone". That why I like at least 1000 feet wake up warning.

Post How to convert CSV to GPX files (or what ever file you use)

I usually download the CSV files, make any corrections, then convert to GPX (or what ever file you use).

This way I have a large CVS file and only use the ones I need to convert (GPX for me).

Post POIs for Brasil into a Nuvi 3790t using a mac

I have been reading your posts and have tried to apply the POIs using the loader. I selected the CSV file and they uploaded into the unit and confirmed by the loader that it was successfull however, on a trip only once did it send a chime warning of a speed camera. I went from Sao Paulo (Brasil) to Lihabela about 250 KM where there are quite a few of these traps. Should I be downloading CMV or GPX, also there are some other files on the download files I am not sure if I should attempt to download. Also does anyone know if my suit is wav or mp3?

Can anybody help as it would be good to get all the radar traps that are available in Brasil as I do quite a bit of exploring.

Thanks

Chris
