I have downloaded the Service Pack, but what does this do? Can I start uploading POI's on to an SD Card, I do not want to knacker my Sat Nav up as I have only just purchased it

The Service Pack simply updates the GPS's back-end software. The fact is, to download custom POIs onto the F20, you need the SmartST 2006 software. Note: Curse you Navman management in forcing your un-aware client base to purchase the software extra.

The Software Connectivity Pack allows you to download custom POIs to the F20. THAT'S ALL IT ALLOWS YOU TO DO!!! Crying or Very sad

What a waste but we need it.

I'm looking for an SDK kit to allow me to program DotNet to talk to the F20 so if anyone can help here...... Shocked

My next GPS will be a TomTom............ Idea

The SD Card is only for maps

Oh, and you can't store POIs on the SD Card. With 100 MB of internal memory, you can store quite a few 300K POI files there instead.

The SD Card is only for maps.

I would love to know this two, got the drivers sorted and navman f20 connected...but no smartST software to sort out POI Sad

I doubt if the software is any different for the US - it's only so that your PC and Navman can talk to each other - do a search and you will find it one way or another. it's currently available on the news group alt.binaries.boneless and no doubt elsewhere . . . .

Surely though, should not Navman include a software cd in the box when you purchase their GPS's
You get one with a mobile phone and just about any other item that can be connected to a PC so why do navman have to be awkward ?

Navman F20 SP2 is free- this simply updates your Navman's internal firmware.

The F20 Software Connectivity pack is around AUD$30 and can be purchased online or in stores. This is what you need to download POI data files.

Hi, i have the drivers and software installed and have no problem connecting to my pc.. but i can't figure out how to update the POI's...is there a site to go on as i have tried the navman site on the software pack but they didnt have anything about poi... can someone help please Confused

Yes, you can use our free POI's for Navman F20 only if you buy the driver from Navman.
We should send them a bill...

Maps on new SD card

Hi! I want to purchase a Navman F20 (as it is cheap) but it has only Germany and Austria maps loaded. My worry is if it is possible to get maps for other European countries somehow and then load it onto a new SD card. Or is it that you can only add maps to the pre-configured SD card bought from them.
