few days ago Apple released its new feature on the iAd platform: iAd workbench which includes "location" as data to advertise apps to mobile users accordingly.
Does anyone know why location was the main focus of this new feature?

Nothing new - seen on Google +7 years ago. Competing with both Google and Samsung is a bit more difficult these days. Apple is just trying to compensate for a falling market share.

Google? I think, it is the first time that location, as variable, is introduced in the in mobile advertising for applications especially when it comes to operating system. Do you think android and others will follow up? I do not think they have anything similar at the moment.
