Recently purchased a Nuvi 265W. Then went to the dealer to buy latest City Navigator Europe DVD. He told me that he had SD (microSD adapted) version only and that the DVD would be arriving in about a month.

I told him that I was leaving for Europe in 3 weeks and could not wait so he said that he would cut me a DVD from their master that would allow me to transfer points on my trip from my PC to the Nuvi. He told me that i should remove the SD card while transfering. He provided the 25 letter unlock code.

OK so I thought I knew something about software and computers, but I am totally stuffed. Cant figure out how the open this DVD.

I can extract it but it wants to take me online to insert another code.

So I downloaded Map Source_6156 and Map Install_3121 from Garmin's site thinking that may help me.

Cant figure out where to go from there ??? Can anyone please assist ???

Van, that serial number should be generated using either device S/N or SD card S/N, otherwise it won't unlock the map on you device. If the seller didn't ask you for your device ID (or SD card ID - depends where you later install the map), than I'm 99% it's the main reason of your problem. Usually you unlock map through map source in managing maps menu - click "unlock", it will open new web browser window, just close it, and in open map source again - there should be small window for typing code displayed - put your map code there and click OK, if it not helps (map status is still "locked"), contact your supplier for correct map code.
