GPS: TomTom GO 930T

I can use computer voice on the device, but when I plug it to my computer, and use 'operate my go' on tomtom home, I just cannot access to computer voice, I can just select normal voice. I have tried to reinstall the computer voice, reinstall the tomtom home, reinstall the software on device, and try on another computer, but none of these worked. Can anyone help? Thanks for your time. |

Hey Saikikyo
I also use the 930 and I also cannot activate the computer voice (that one for reading text messages) whilst connected to the computer.
I already had a conversation with someone from TomTom support and he/she told me that the computer voice is not supposed to work on the computer. He was not able to give me a reason why this is the case, but told me that I could choose another voice and it should work fine. Also he mentioned that I should check the version of the voice...(however I should do this). I just have found a german page that offers the german computer voice in v7. Perhaps this might be the solution. Unfortunately they only support the german version.
If anyone out here has a solution: Let us know, please.

| thanks for your time geoching. also i found that the computer voice just spell out some street names, for example 'state route', tomtom read it like 'S-T-A-T-E route', i can figure out what it wants to say but i am just not happy with this, cuz it is the top unit of tomtom go

I agree that this is one of the "cooler" features.
It works quite fine if I use this voice on the device (well....you are right it sounds strange especialli when using it in the US with the German voice  )
An I usually do not use the voices on the pc anyway - but I simply had to make my experiences with the TomTom support team.

My new GO 730 is doing the 'S-T-A-T-E route' thing. I can't find any info on how to fix this issue. My old TomTom ONE which used VocalizerTTS didn't have this issue, it is unique to LoquendoTTS

If you figure out how to correct the 'S-T-A-T-E route' issue please let us know. It's driving me nuts
