I too am somewhat puzzled at the difficulty in getting good school zone information (like this). I appreciate that it is an enormous task to provide data on all school zones. But as many schools (and by default school zones) are difficult to detect among the proliferation of road signs on busy thoroughfares and with the propensity of governments to prey on the unwary, the sooner a good and reliable framework of school zone warnings is compiled the better.
It will greatly enhance the safety of school environments if drivers are warned of their locality. It will certainly be a much more desirable approach to the installation of hidden cameras which may ultimately slow regularly passing drivers, but will do nothing to slow down those who pass only occasionally and may not see the school in advance.
Speed cameras are about revenue raising and not safety. Let's get cracking and build a good and reliable warning system.

I also agree that, most cameras are for revenue, if everybody drove in such a manner that no laws were being broken and revenue dropped, new laws would be passed to insure somebody did something wrong. I think you will find the amount of cameras in the city area breathtaking, especially when you consider most accidents that cause deaths are in the country.
The way to make schools safer would be to ban parking within a kilometre during school hours and to enforce it. The problem as I see it is that kids can not be seen when driving around schools due to all the cars picking up people.

| My recent uploads have worked. The wifey hates the child voice, so I downloaded a mature woman to suggest school zone locations.

I found that with my gps I would at times go through a school zone without getting an alert.
I think I am getting better warnings now by increasing the range I get proximity alerts for school zones. Still have to test it to make sure that it catches all school zones.
